Completed to the highest standards in the autumn of 2016 and beautifully decorated throughout by an interior designer, Villa Şahinkaya is now available for the first time for summer 2017. The villa is available for weekly rents but is also the perfect setting for special occasions, for example a wedding or important anniversary. Please get in touch if you would like any further information on this.
You approach the villa through landscaped gardens, and on entering the villa there is a spacious decorative entrance hall. A couple of steps lead down to the large open plan living and kitchen area. The villa is bursting with character throughout. The comfortable living room has a beautiful Turkish open fireplace, original antique furniture, feature stone walling and authentic handmade Turkish 'kilim' rugs.
The open plan kitchen is delightfully rustic in appearance but offers top of the range modern appliances - everything needed to self cater. Appliances include a fridge freezer, washing machine, gas hob, electric oven, toaster and kettle, Philips food processor, Kitchen Aid mixer, and a juicer.
Two sets of double French doors lead out of both the lounge area and the kitchen onto the fantastic dining terrace.
Also on this ground floor is the third double bedroom. The bedroom is rustically styled and once again has feature stone walling. Double doors lead out onto a pretty, secluded rear garden. Adjacent to this bedroom is a family bathroom with WC, shower and sink.
On the first floor of the property are the master bedroom and second double bedroom. The master bedroom is truly spectacular with full height ceilings and exposed beams, a four poster king sized bed and access out onto two balconies. The en-suite bathroom is also beautiful, with a free standing roll top bath, a large separate shower, a custom made sink unit and WC.
The second double bedroom on this floor is also a very good size and elegantly styled. The bedroom has a king-sized bed, dressing area, exposed beams, wardrobe area and double doors which lead out onto the large front balcony. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with toilet, sink and shower unit.
The garden and terraced areas of the villa are harmoniously and carefully planned to nestle into the backdrop of the mountains and landscape of the area sympathetically. The owners are keen gardeners, and much attention to planting and design is apparent. A vegetable garden is planned for next year with fresh vegetables, salad and fruit available for guests to enjoy.
The infinity swimming pool is a real feature of the property, having been unusually clad in stone, not swimming pool tiles, and with pebbles, giving it a natural appearance. A separate children's pool/shallow section sits just above the main pool, with water gently descending from one pool into the next, creating a delightful cascading sound.
Surrounding the swimming pool are extensive terraces furnished with sun loungers, tables and parasols. The top terrace is directly accessed from the kitchen/lounge and is where the outdoor dining table is situated under the terrace roof which provides protection from the mid day sun.
The villa has fans in most rooms, although as it is built with solid stone walls half a meter thick, and generous terraced roofs, there is rarely need for air conditioning.
The sleepy village of Saribelen itself is located just a few minutes drive from the villa where there are a couple of small grocery shops, and an excellent pide (Turkish pizza) restaurant. The nearest town of Kalkan, a beautiful old harbour town, is approximately a fifteen to twenty minute drive away.
The villa is also located close to the famous Lycian Way - a beautiful and well known walking trail that snakes its way through the region. The villa is a paradise for those who like to get 'off the beaten path'.
